Class Title: Writing to Heal
Instructor: Lynn Goodwin
Class Term: We are not accepting any more enrollments for Lynn's class; the class has started.
Synopsis
Everyone is healing from something—illness, divorce, job loss, loneliness, exhaustion.Writing to Heal (a four-unit course) invites participants to explore the emotional effects of trauma or illness on individuals and families. It offers a chance to relieve stress, find acceptance and hope, and begin the healing process.
Class Description
You will have a choice of writing prompts designed to help you process issues and relieve stress in prose, poetry, letters, and lists. Write what you want, read my responses, and add your own supportive comments if you like. Writing in a supportive community is healing, so we will use a Yahoo Group online classroom to share our work. You are expected to purchase a copy of You Want Me to Do WHAT?: Journaling for Caregivers, which is available through many online retailers, including Amazon. (Please note: While writing is highly therapeutic, this class does not offer group therapy or individual counselling. We share stories, but we do not seek advice or try to advise one another.)
